Sydney MCS believes newly arrived migrants, humanitarian entrants and refugees should receive a dignified reception when settling in their new country. As such, Sydney MCS is supported by the Department of Social Services under the Families and Communities Programme (Settlement Services). With this support, Sydney MCS provides the Settlement Engagement and Transition Support (SETS) Program, which involves:
- The implementation of community development initiatives
- The provision of casework, information, referral and linkages into mainstream services.
This dual approach aims to support and enhance both individual migrants and newly emerging communities as a whole.
